How To Apply Lipstick and Lip Liner

By  |

Application of lip liner on your lips:

To create a fuller lip, line the outside line of your lips. To create a smaller lip line the inside line of your lips.  Lining your lips with a thin line or thick line is really up to you, however if you choose to lay it on thick make sure the thickness is on the inside of the lips not the outer part.

  • Technique 1. Line the lips then take a tissue and blot the lips. This will make the lip line look less hard. Then with a finger smudge the lip line you just drew into the inner lip. Be sure to smudge both upper and bottom lip line into the lips.
  • Technique 2. Line the lips then smudge the lip line you just drew into the inner lip. Be sure to smudge both upper and bottom lip line into the lips. Do not blot.
  • Technique 3. Line the lips then fill in the inner lips with the shade of your lip liner.
  • Technique 4. Line the lips then fill in the inner lips with the shade of your lip liner, smudge with your finger, then blot.
  • Technique 5. Line the lips then smudge the lip line you just drew into the inner lip. Be sure to smudge both upper and bottom lip line into the lips. Then apply a clear chap stick or lip balm to your lips. Rub lips together then blot.

Application of lipstick on your lips:

After you have determined which technique you will use to apply your lip liner now it’s time to fill in the inner lips. To apply the lipstick you can use the lipstick in its packaged form and apply straight to the inner lips. Here are some other techniques for a more natural look.

  • Technique 1. Apply the lipstick with a lip brush and smooth over the inner lips. The brush will help to blend the liner into the lips.
  • Technique 2. Apply the lipstick to your finger and smudge the color on your lips. Follow with a brush to blend the liner into the lips.

All the techniques here can be applied together to suit which method works best for you as well as which method works best with the colors you are applying. Some methods work better for lighter liners versus darker liners. Try each technique and see which works best for you when applying your lip liner and lipstick.
